It’s Polar Bear Week: All WWF Donations Will Be Matched Up to $130K!
“With your support [WWF] will take this oil spill research to the next level – standing on guard to ensure long-standing Arctic safety requirements are not compromised, and expanding our scope to Baffin Bay and Lancaster Sound, some of the richest waters in the Arctic.”
“[The loss of life] is gut-wrenching. I fell in love with the polar regions as a kid, saw polar bears as a kid and I saw a healthy icy environment as a kid … We’re actually doing a big National Geographic story this summer between Greenland and Baffin Island called ‘The Last Ice.’ It’s going to be the last stronghold for multi-year ice in the Arctic in the next 20 to 30 years … That’s a blink, that’s a flash.”
This site is dedicated to raising public awareness about the plight of the threatened species, the narwhal. Scientifically named the Monodon monoceros, the narwhal has been listed as Nearly Threatened by the World Wildlife Fund For Nature. Conservation efforts have been put in place to create restrictions on whaling. Due to global warming, it is unlikely that narwhals will be taken off of the Nearly Threatened species list. Please browse this site to learn more and help spread the word by joining the cause on Twitter @ProtectNarwhals or at https://twitter.com/ProtectNarwhals!
I recently created a page to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund in honor of the narwhal! Please show your support by making a donation. Your contribution will help protect the narwhal and its habitats around the world.
You can make your donation online by visiting my personal page—every dollar makes a difference!
Thank you!
